COURSE OBJECTIVES
The objective of this course is to equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills to understand, assess, and manage power quality in modern power systems. The course aims to build competence in identifying power quality issues, applying measurement and monitoring techniques, implementing mitigation measures, and understanding the technical, regulatory, and operational considerations required to ensure reliable and efficient electrical power systems.

By the end of the course participants will be able to:
- Identify major power quality disturbances and their causes.
- Measure and analyse key power quality parameters using appropriate instruments.
- Diagnose harmonics, voltage sags, swells, transients and voltage unbalance.
- Apply appropriate techniques for mitigating power quality problems.
- Interpret power quality data and recommend practical measures to improve system reliability and efficiency.
- Apply relevant power quality standards, including IEEE 519 and IEC 61000, in electrical and utility systems.
