COURSE OBJECTIVES

To equip professionals with the knowledge, technical competencies, and practical tools required to plan, implement, regulate, and monitor sustainable and inclusive urban sanitation systems based on the Citywide Inclusive Sanitation (CWIS) framework.
Specific Objectives
By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
1. Explain sustainable urban sanitation principles and apply the Citywide Inclusive Sanitation (CWIS) framework in sanitation planning and service delivery.
2. Evaluate and select appropriate sanitation technologies for sustainable and climate-resilient urban sanitation.
3. Apply sanitation governance, policy, regulatory, and financing frameworks in urban sanitation management.
4. Develop sanitation improvement plans and apply monitoring and evaluation tools to assess service performance.
5. Promote multi-sectoral collaboration for safe, inclusive, and sustainable sanitation services.

TARGET PARTICIPANTS

The course is designed for professionals involved in urban sanitation planning, regulation, service delivery, and management. Target participants include staff from Water Supply and Sanitation Authorities (WSSAs), Local Government Authorities (LGAs), relevant government ministries (Water, Health, and Environment), Basin Water Boards, EWURA, and the National Environment Management Council (NEMC).
