COURSE OBJECTIVES

The overall objective of this executive training program is to equip procurement professionals with practical and ethical competencies in applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance efficiency, compliance, risk management, and strategic decision-making in public procurement. Specifically, the course aims to enable participants to harness procurement data from the National e-Procurement System (NeST) and other sources to automate documentation, improve quality assurance, detect fraud and price anomalies, and develop institution-specific AI action plans that support transparency, accountability, and value for money in procurement operations

  • Procurement Data Strategy and Predictive Analytics (Focus on AI fundamentals, NeST data readiness, data quality, and demand and price forecasting for evidence-based procurement planning).
  • Generative AI for Procurement Efficiency and Compliance (Application of AI for drafting tender documents, reviewing bids and contracts, and automating evaluation reports to improve speed, quality, and compliance).
  • AI-Driven Risk Management, Ethics, and the Future of Procurement (Use of AI for fraud detection and risk analytics, introduction to agentic AI, and governance frameworks for ethical and responsible AI adoption).

LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of the course participants will be able to:

  • Apply AI Concepts to Procurement (Demonstrate a clear understanding of key Artificial Intelligence concepts including Machine Learning, Generative AI, and Agentic AI and their strategic relevance across the public procurement cycle).
  • Utilize Data-Driven Decision-Making (Extract, clean, and analyze procurement data to generate actionable insights, enabling evidence-based planning, forecasting, and value-for-money decisions)
  • Enhance Procurement Processes with AI (Leverage AI tools to efficiently draft procurement documents, conduct compliance reviews, and automate evaluation reports for transparent and timely Tender Board decision-making).
  • Identify Risks and Ensure Integrity (Detect procurement risks, fraud, and anomalies using AI-driven analytics while applying ethical, responsible, and governance-compliant approaches).
  • Develop Strategic AI Adoption Plans (Formulate institution-specific, practical, and sustainable AI implementation strategies to optimize procurement operations and drive organizational efficiency).
