COURSE OBJECTIVES

This training workshop aims to equip participants with emerging technologies that can be integrated with Koha to meet the modern challenges in automation of library services.

• Overview of ubuntu server and Koha installation, configuration, and best practices for server maintenance, backup, and disaster recovery
• Overview of Koha core functions: Cataloging, Circulation, Acquisition, Reports, and OPAC Modules
• Understanding MARC Records and Modifying the Cataloging MARC Framework
• Deep understanding of original and copy Cataloging
• Discussion on Electromagnetic (EM) and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and their Integration with Koha ILS
• Integration of electronic resources into Koha OPAC search
• Integration of Open AI into Koha and utilizing the power of AI for modern Libraries
• Integrating analytics tools with Koha ILS
• User interface design and creation of custom pages for ILS
• Koha and Ubuntu server troubleshooting techniques
