COURSE OBJECTIVES
To equip participants with the basic skills of R to manipulate, analyze, and visualize fisheries and aquaculture data

- Introduction of R
- Data structure and data analysis
- Data cleaning and manipulation techniques
- Basics Fisheries and Aquaculture statistics in R
- Installation and introduction of QGIS
- Data types (vector and b raster
- Access of remote data sources; WMS and WFS
- Other sources e.g. SoAF satellite e-station
LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of the course participants will be able to:
- Acquire basic skills and knowledge of using R
- Be proficient in data cleaning, manipulation and visualization
- Understand and apply relevant statistical techniques
- Acquire basic skills and knowledge on using QGIS
- Understand QGIS tools for mapping aquatic resources
- Import, modify and export data
- Have a general understanding of geospatial data and handling
