COURSE OBJECTIVES

Computer applications and Geographical Information Systems (GIS) technologies play an important role in daily use of technologies and career development. However, many youth have little or no experience with computer applications and GIS technologies. It is in this perspective; this course is purposely designed to introduce the youth to computer applications and concepts of Geographical Information Systems.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of the course participants will be able to:

  • explain computer and its function, work on Microsoft package ( Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint) and Geographical Information System (GIS)

TARGET PARTICIPANTS

Youth, particular the recently graduated Form Four leavers and University students. The course is also open to Non-Students participants who are interested to learn and sharpen their skills on computer applications and GIS technologies. Mode of delivery A series of lectures, hands on computer practical exercises, group discussions and presentations. Awards Upon successfully completion of the course; a participant will be awarded a certificate of attendance
